  • Compulsory Vehicle Liability Insurance
This insurance is aimed at compensating for injury and death incurred by other parties. The amount of coverage is limited to a specific amount and does not cover damage to property or the driver's (policyholder) car. When applying for inspection, reporting the use category of the vehicle and for vehicle registration, the user of the car must have a Compulsory Vehicle Liability Insurance Certificate or such procedures cannot be completed.
    [ Limit of Coverage ]
Injury : 200,000 yen per injured person, maximum
After-effects caused by accident : Depending on the degree, 30 million yen/person, maximum
Death : 30 million yen, maximum; For injuries leading to death, 1.2 million yen, maximum.
  • Non-Compulsory Car Insurance
In order to cover damages not covered by compulsory car insurance, drivers may purchase combined coverage policies that include the compulsory insurance and also non- compulsory car insurance, the latter of which covers other parties, property damages, passengers in the insured's car, the car itself (Self-Insured Car Insurance Package).
Various types of increased coverage are available. It is advisable to investigate the various car insurance coverage products of the various companies and pick a car insurance policy that suits your personal situation.
